Service Area FAQ

Are you licensed in all four states?

Yes. New Steps Care clinicians hold active licenses in Florida, Virginia, Maine, and Iowa. You must be physically located in the state where your therapist is licensed during each telehealth session.

How does virtual therapy work across state lines?

You book through our secure platform and attend sessions by video from a private location in your licensed state. We do not provide care across state lines in a single session—you need a clinician licensed where you are at appointment time.

Do you accept insurance in every state you serve?

We participate with major plans in each state, but networks differ. Florida, Virginia, Maine, and Iowa each have distinct in-network carriers—verify coverage before your first full session.

Can I switch states if I move?

Often yes, if we have a licensed clinician in your new state and your insurance or self-pay arrangement still works. Contact us before you move so we can plan a smooth transition.
